A lot of solenoids are cylindrical, and a lot are mounted right on the side of the starter which is the bigger cylinder. I don't anything about that type of Swather, some older equipment used 24 volt which would take two 12 volt batteries in series to get the right voltage. Does that swather have any sort of id plate or serial number on it? What type of engine, gas ( has a distributor and spark plugs ) or diesel ( has an injection pump and lines running to injectors ) ? Ok, this is a fancy chrome starter, but you can see the solenoid on the top of the starter. http://www.qualitypowerauto.com/catalog.php?item=27
