Neighbor has an old Ford Flail mower sitting out in a field. I asked him about it and he said go ahead and haul it over to your place and see what you can do with it. Walked over and took a look, it has a plate that says Ford but the model is blank. Has a serial number to long to remember and another number 22-124.. The belt is off the pulleys but the idler pulley looks fairly new. Gear box turns and feels good. Neighbor said he thinks he put new blades on it but it was banging against the housing once in a while so he quit using it. The housing needs quite a bit of work but a little plate steel and welding should take care of that pretty quick. Going to be a couple days before I can get it over here but was wondering if anyone has any experience with these things and might give me a few hints on what to look for when I get into rebuilding it.
