My Ford Flail is a Model number 917.. It is 6' 6" cutting width.. Yep, they can be repaired..the sheet metal at the rear of the drum rusts if not cleaned up after use.. There should be a full-length roller under the back.. If yours is like mine, you are gonna need some HorsePower to run it in tall heavy grass..!! Mine takes at least 40 HP or more for fairly heavy tall grasses.. Ford still has all the parts for these...and the flail knives are not very expensive either.. Ron..
