If it were me, I would stay away from the 8N, especially since it has no 'live' PTO. Since I am not an expert tractor operator, I would agree with the newer Ford (800/801 series) or other brand with more hp and features that the "N" can keep my rookie self out of trouble. If you go for the Ford, look for one with the 5 speed (has a 2 stage clutch), and under NO circumstances buy a "Select-O-Speed" Transmission. The 8N was around the 25-28 hp, and the 800/801 series was in the mid 40's. Definitely much more bang for the buck. My opinion and Good Luck,
