CaseIH 1394 Mfd with ps ?????

I'm new to this tractor business,and need some help.I have found a 1988 CaseIH 1394 with Mfd.factory cab and powershift with 3000 hrs.Is this a good dependable tractor?They seem to be priced about $10,000 or so below the CIH 685-885s,comparable J.D,Ford,Masseys etc,why is this? My friend Woodbeef, says that they are really David Brown tractors,with not too bad of a reputation in the under 70hp.range.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thank you very much for your time!
