I had a 1963 2000 diesel with a loader (same tractor with smaller engine). The Ford 4-cyl was a great gas engine, not so great diesel. Make sure the diesel is running absolutely tip-top before buying. I bought mine thinking I could fix it - several thousand $$$ an a few years later, I had it running pretty good except that I could never get the exhaust to clean up - it was really nasty. Ended up selling it at a loss because of that. If you buy the 800 diesel use a fuel conditioner (esp. water dispersant) and keep the fuel clean and free of water. The fuel filter and oil/water separator set-up leaves something to be desired. Run the tractor frequently, these diesels don't like to sit. The front end is sturdier than most small tractors that people put loaders on. But you will need a lot of counter weight to get any traction on the rear tires. I now have an AC D-12 with a loader, and with only 300 lbs of wheel weights and just air in the tires, it has better traction than the Ford did with loaded tires, 1100 lbs of wheel weights and an implement hung off the back.
