New to purchasing Ford 800 Series or not?

I am looking at purchasing a 1960's Ford 800 series tractor. It is a diesel, has power steering, PTO, 3-point accessory connection and the "Select-o-matic" transmission. It is in excellent condition. They are asking $4,800. Is this a good unit? A message I read said to avoid the "select-0-matic" transmission. Any feelings on this? Is this a good price? I am using it to cut 15 acres and do chores related to a small horse farm. I want to add a front loader later. Barry Zuber
