"The first notch on the pulley is timing advance (advance = happens first) so turn the crankshaft to the double set of notches that are about 1/8" apart. That is Top Dead Center (TDC). Aim the rotor to the 2 o"clock position & put it all together. The rotor turns clockwise. Firing order is 1-3-4-2. Using a continuity indicator, rotate the distributor body clockwise so the points are closed and then slowly rotate the distributor back until the points just open. There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
