Rich, My wife and I have lived in a log home for the past 13 years and I wouldn't do anything else. Like tractors, so much depends on how it was made and how it was maintained over the years. The amount of maintainence depends on how it was constructed. I would suggest you pick up a copy of Log Home Living magazine and start reading through a few copies, your head will spin, but you will have an idea of what your looking at and why some are so much more expensive than others. Good luck with your search, you have to live in one for awhile to appreciate what everyone else misses out on.. Joe

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet).
