We have had more than 2 inches in past week. While I wished it fell on a mowed field I held off because I was afraid of burning it after it was cut. Next door the alfalfa looks pretty good. They have taken two cuttings so far. Temps have eased some and less humid. Warmer days and cooler nights with this current rain should bring the grasses back. Corn does not look bad in my area. Most is 5 foot or more, all green and has tasseled. Water tables are way down. The pond next door is all but dried up. Lake properties down the road have a lot of shoreline showing. Pretty soon point wells will begin to cavitate and create problems. For me I am the only well for at least 1/2 mile so hope not to have any problems. Time will tell. More excessive heat out west (110 F) on Sunday, could be headed this way.
