With the manifold removed, insert a curved pry bar into a port, pry the valve guide downward enough to remove the "C"-shaped keeper. Then, pry the whole assembly upward, and out of the block. Assemble the new valve, guide, and spring parts and keepers, and install the new assembly in the block, then install the "C"-shaped keeper. Doing it this way, no exotic tools are needed.
