You have eliminated part of what could have been a problem with the voltage to the distributor so we will have to look closer into the distributor and coil. I actually think it is a coil problem even though you installed a new one but I wanted to verify that the voltage was being dropped. The replacement coils that I have seen on the market leave a lot to be desired. How was your old coil? Did you have the same problem before upgrading the electical sytem? Are you open to modifying the coil or is this a show tractor? Do you have a junk/no value old coil?
