Your ignition switch may have gone bad on you which would casue it to die like that but not have any thing to do with it not turning over. If you jumped across the big terminals on the solinoid and the starter didn't spin then I would say you need to have the started checked/replaced. You can hot wire it to see if your ignition switch is bad easty to do just run a wire from the hot side of the battery to the coil and then try to start it but if the starter will not tunr over you would have to pull it again to start it. It sounds like your starter has gone bad on you unless when you jumpered the soliniod big post you didn't get a good spark. If you didn't get a good spark you have battery/cable or connection problems
