8N prob. if you want to by pass the switch etc. put the possitive jumper on a frame et tranny bolt anywhere for gouund-- the other neg- right to the top bolt on the starter-- this will tell you if the trouble is in the starter ( it should turn fine) or if the prob is before the starter-- some probs. the ground cable to the steering column needs to make contact and also needs to be big enough-- some put 12 cable on a 6 volt system won"t work- wont carry enough juice-- put the tractor in gear switch off and rock back wheel and see if motor trys to turn( look at fan blade and see if it turns at all this will tell you if the engine has started to sieze BLW
