So , who can AFFORD to buy that new tractor in the first place? I drive a 9 year old vehicle (never owned a new one, probably never will). I just can't justify putting out $30,000 - $50,000 for a vehicle (thought $14,000 was bad!). If I ever NEED to buy another vehicle, I'll drive up in whatever I happen to be driving that day and HAGGLE all day long, if I have to - and I'll probably start on the cheapest one on the lot! There are a LOT of good used ones out there with only 120,000 miles or so - don't need new. With tractors - if it ain't IH or Ford - I go right by. Newest tractor I have ever owned is a 1971 - there are plenty of the older ones out there that are still cheap enough.
