Vehicle You Drive When Buying ?

A friend of mine told me that he always drives his old beater when he goes to look at or buy a tractor. He feels that if the seller sees you in an old junker, he is more likely to bend in his price as compared to dealing with somebody driving a $45000 Duramax or Cummings, etc. Anybody out there go along with this thinking or is he just dreaming?
