The last new truck I bought I bought over the phone. The dealer owner knew me and I knew him. I had seen the truck before so I knew what it had. He called with his "best" offer and I made mine. He didn't like it but he did find another rebate and called me back two days later, only 800+ miles away, done deal. I have never bought a new tractor and probably never will. I would think that with the low margins on -most- tractors, haggling won't be over much. Do your homework first and then see how he reacts. What you drive probably won't matter if you have your money lined up. I agree with LJL.
