They were used on all kinds of things, and as a few others said - it came with two pistons going up and down at the same time - e.g. the TE or TF series, and also in opposed with the bigger engines, e.g. the TJ series. Besides the numerous balers, welders, generators, water-pumps, commercial rototillers, etc., the TE two-cylinders were also used in a few small farm tractors. I've got a Shaw Du-All R-12 that uses the TE.
