You need to talk to a customs broker in the USA before you go to pick it up. They should be able to tell you what is needed. Otherwise you are likely to get stuck for hours or days at the border. I would think that age of the tractor will affect the requirements somewhat. Also where the tractor was originally made... For sure, you will need to have proof of ownership. I bought a five-year old car in Quebec and brought it back to New York state; the broker had all the paperwork done ahead of time, and it only took a few minutes to get through.
