I bought a Bush Hog Razorback(light duty) a few months back. Paid $625 new. I told the dealer that at first I would be cutting some pretty big stuff with it and he said it would handle it, as long as I took it slow. He did say that if it was continued to be used like that, that the deck would wear out pretty quick. He also told me that that was the most expensive part to replace. If I remember right, he told me a new gear box(I made it a point to ask, I figured I'd need a new before long) was around $250, but don't hold me to it. Right off hand, I'd say you got took.
