In my experience, Nogg has the ticket for ya. I live in similar conditions in coastal Maine, and I compost mine. What little I don't reapply to garden or pasture, I've got folks lined up to barter for, and some are willing to pay cash. I raise sheep, and have similar concerns about it getting into their fleeces. I don't compost quite as aggressively as Nogg suggests (tho I think I'll try his method), so it takes longer. I layer waste hay, sheep bedding, chicken bedding and horse manure, and let nature take it's course for a year, maybe turn it when I happen to be in the mood. I start a new pile each spring, and by the following spring, last year's is ready to be turned into the garden or spread on the pasture. With sheep (and, I suspect, alpaca) manure, there is no objectionable odor. Chicken manure can be a little intense, but as it is only 1/3 or less of the mix, it hasn't been a problem.
