No, I have not read that, but I will. There have been a few good books and movies written about drought in the Dakotas, Manitoba and Saskatchewan and they are all tear jerkers (Don't Shoot the Teacher, Who Has Seen the Wind, The Drylanders). In the 30's when farmers were dryed out and blown out in Sask. and abandonning the farm they would water the tree in the yard before they left. My Dad used to talk about being out plowing with 4 horses when THE BIG RAIN finally came to end the drought. He claims he tried to make the last half mile round, but soon the water was running in the furrow. He also claims (claimed) that he unharnessed the horses in the field, let them go and slowly walked home. Must have been a nice walk.

I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
