Drought is Something most of the world will never understand, and I hope they never have too. But yeah, I've been there too and night after night at dusk walking out on the porch, not so much to pee, but to scan the western sky one last time to see if maybe some little cloud is showing up. You just never give up hope. I talked to one old man this summer, he had lived here all his life ( well, all of it so far) and he made the comment that "so far it had rained every year" I can relate to the old homesteader watering the tree. As tillers of the soil, we are going to do what we can for as long as we can. And even when we giveup, something deep inside does not. Let it rain til Hell's a pond.
