York Rake with wheels.. How do the experts use em?

Picked up a nice 6 foot york rake today, with adjustable angle and 2 rear wheels, also adjustable. I have been using the back blade to smooth out after the serious machinery gets done moving the rocks and ground around. Now , another toy to learn how to use.. I have tried a little bit already and it seems to kinda work like I want, but I seem to not be getting rid of the rocks at all.. No windrow effect. I have run it without the wheels for the time being, as it seems to do a decent job of leveling that way.
So, york rake veterans.... How do you pros do it?
What are the common errors? The neat tricks?
