Well now here's a stupid question . . . Ford 2000 tractor, new rims, new tires . . . just bought the "used tractor." The front tires are so new they still have the tire mold nubbies on them . . . but they gradually go flat. So, I drove the tractor over to the gas station and filled the tires to roughly 30 pounds. The left one was nearly flat by the time I got back to the house, but seems to seal itself off at about 15 pounds. Now, here's the peculiar thing: when I bump the valve stems (with a typical push like when connecting the air hose) they gush air from around the sides of the stem (not up through the stem). It's like the valve stems aren't pulled through the rim such that they seal or something. I've never had tractor tire problems before . . .I don't even think I ever had a flat on my old tractor. Are the front tires tubeless? Well, this ought to take a prize for dumb questions. If nothing else you guys can have fun at my expense. I'm a psychologist, not a mechanic. Doc
