Kevin, what are you cutting? Mature hay and grasses cut easier than fine, short grass, fine grasses tend to clog up between the ledger plate and the section. Also is it dry enough? Wet hay or grass tends to clog. Your ground speed is important but so is your RPM's, keep them in the operating range. Anytime I have had problems with sickle mower or haybine it has been in fine grass or wet. What you described should work
