Connect a volt meter to the primary side(wire coming from switch) of the coil without removing the wire from the terminal and to a good clean ground on the tractor. Make certain the points are closed and the ignition switch is on (engine is not running) and measure the voltage and post your reading and I will get back regarding a solution. I would like to have as accurate reading as you can get. What voltage battery are you running and what is the voltage marked on the coil?
