Have been reading the posts about fences being torn down. Several years ago I was responding to a flue fire at about 10:30 pm. Wet clay gravel road, raining and windshield fogging up. Ran up on a 90 degree curve in the road, made it thru the curve but took out 7 or 8 posts and good bit of the fence. I was in my pickup not a fire truck. After hearing that the fire was out, I went to the house of the people that owned the fence. I had never met them before. The biggest and hairyest man I had ever seen came to the door. I explained what I had done and said I would fix the fence that night or in the morning if his cattle were not close by. He said no, WE would fix the fence after I had eaten breakfast with them. Goes on to say that I was the only one who had ever stopped in all the years he had owned the place, everyone else just kept going. We became good friends. People just need to be honest but many times they wont be.
