I should have mentioned that I got a new battery and wired it in after I could not get intial start with the existing one. I also replaced the wires from the battery (+) to the starter switch, and starter switch to the starter (I cleaned up the (-) cable and the ground also). Another problem is the tractor is backed against the shed and has an oversized bucket on it which has the pins pulled from the hydro cylinders. The bucket is pointed down and grounded on the working edge of the bucket so it's not going to be easy to raise it up and pin it. And that's assuming that once I get it up, it just wont relax to the ground due to leaky cylinders. This makes me think that I got some work ahead of me if I'm going to attempt a push or pull start. I'm mechanically inclined but am really ignorant about tractors though (I know the green one's are JD's and I had a red pedal tractor when I was a kid). I don't want to end up hurting myself or wrecking something either! I'm hopeful that it's the easy fix for the starter, and if not I can get it off. I'll also bring along some thicker guage cables to help pass more current as well. Thanks for all your suggestions... I wanna be in the parade! Oh yeah... I don't think this tractor has a hand crank feature does it?

After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
