OT, Good round for snake pistol?

Earlier this year we bought a few acres in north florida and are planning a move next year, the place is kinda out in the boonies and the neighbors say there are gobs of rattlesnakes around (3 dens on my land) and Im gonna pick up a cheap semi-auto pistol to carry when Im mowen/clearin etc. just wondering what kind of shot rounds are made for 32,38,9mm pistols? anybody got any suggestions.... P.S. Id kinda like to be able to be able to discourage em 8-10 feet away.....Don
