If I remember right there where no WD45s in 1950, I think the first year was 1954. A WD45 will not have a bolt on plate on the right side of the engine, the shafter will have a little curve to it. Those are 2 of the ways to figure them out, but late WDs had the curved shifter and either engine will bolt into either tractor. Best way to be sure it get the serial numbers off the tractor. They are on the left rear alxe houseing and then run the numbers under where it says serial numbers on the left of this page. I my self own both tractors so I know what and where to look
