Listen to Bret & Coflyboy. I"ve got a little over 20 years in law enforcement and it can make a difference talking to a supervisor. Ask for a copy of the investingating officer"s report. See what he said and what he says you said, assuming he didn"t ask you to complete a statement. If you think you"ve being given the runaround, call the internal affairs unit and make a complaint. Pressing charges is something that the prosecutor"s office does. What the victim of a crime does is aid in the prosecution by making statements and testifying. As a practical matter, if the victim won"t aid in the prosecution the case is probably not going anywhere. Most police agencies like to solve crimes and make arrests. It drives up their stats and makes everybody look good. Hope you get a favorable outcome to your situation. Bob
