John Deere sells an electric ether-injector system that takes standard ether cans that you can buy just about anywhere. I'm sure Deere doesn't make it - so it must be commonly available. We installed them on all our equipment that got used where electricity was usually not available - including some large AG tractors. You take a backhoe, dozer, skidder, etc. sitting in the woods at 30 degrees below zero - and no amount of batteries and thin oil is going to make some diesels start without some extra help. Also - you could just use the non-electric system that many companies use. An ether orifice gets screwed into your air intake - which I assume you already have. The hose runs back in to the operator's compartment to a fitting that accepts any standard ether can. It's cheap, the orifice helps to prevent ether overloading, - but with no electric solenoid it takes a little bit more effort to use. I put the manual setup on my Allis HD4, Allis HD6 and also on my Deere 300 hoe, Case 580CK hoe, and Pettibone LDA hoe. MY Allis HD6 originally had some sort of special ether cannister hookup - and those cannisters are no longer available.

The draft forces are
