Yep...sick isnt it. But the big three dumb*ss*ss promised everything to everybody back in the hey day. The pension alone for the retired folks is amazing. (I will take a 401K anyday over a big company managed pension) now that people are living till 80 and retireing at 58 the companies cant pay out $1,000 to $2,000 per month. The health care for the retired is super expensive too. Dont forget that the employees get paid well too. My sister is an engineer at for one of the big 3. Holy cow her salary is real good + benefits + company car too (every 6 months). She isnt worth her pay, sounds rude but its true. The big three now have to compete in the world market place and the environmental *rap too, nobody wants a smoke stack in their neighborhood. Gas prices are too high and the trucks arent selling good anymore. I could go on and on but I wont.
