I just built up a new system, and I'm pretty happy with it. Used an MSI P965 Platinum motherboard and an Intel Core 2 Duo 6300 CPU. If you decide to go with an Intel-based computer, I highly recommend the Core 2 Duo CPU over the older Pentium D processors as they are faster and use half the power. I use Windows at work, and I can say the Windows XP is the first version of Windows that deserves to be called an operating system. But just barely. It still is far too insecure to be plugged into the internet. I have not used the newer OS/X-based Macs, but I'm certain this operating system is a lot more solid than any version of Windows out there. OS/X is based on the NEXTSTEP operating system which was in turn based on the Mach operating system. For all intents and purposes OS/X is a variant of UNIX. Personally, I use Linux, another UNIX variant. I do not have to worry about computer viruses. For all intents and purposes, viruses are a Windows problem. This is partly because of the popularity of Windows, but it is mostly due to lack of any sort of real security in the Windows operating system. If you run Windows, viruses and other malware are just a fact of life.

My dad dreamed that some day he would have his own tractor with every implement he could get. When he rea
