Turbo chargers and shop heaters

With airplanes (I know you guys don't fly airplanes but I think this is quite relevant) the mixture is set by the pilot every time he flies. The EGT is used to properly set the mixture as stated in the POH(pilot operating handbook). Too lean and you burn valves. Too rich and you foul plugs. The charts in the POH dictate exactly how the mixture is to be set. With turbo charged airplanes intake manifold pressure levels are also stated in the POH. A thinking pilot never diviates from these settings. My point being that deviating from factory specs can have serious consequences. Admittedly, more so with airplanes than with tractors. Hangars are notoriously hard and expensive to heat because they have high ceilings and very large doors. Commonly airplane folks don't even try to keep the air in the hangar heated, they use infra red heaters and heat the objects (people) in the hangars. Very cost and comfort effective.
