1951 DeSoto Deluxe black 4 dr. was my first car. Had the fluid drive trans. Looked strange had a clutch peddle. Just put on the brake to stop and hit the gas to go. Four wheel corner slid on gravel no problem. Not much on starting in cold weather. Hung out with a guy in school who had a 57 DeSoto with the fins and push buttom auto trans. The 51 is on the back of the home place just a shell. What year did he show up with? A big amen as to wht the rest said about what he could have arrived home with! The part about drugs.
