Since you have a GOOD "3-wire" unit, it doesn't have to spin as fast to "excite" as a (GOOFY) "one-wire" alternator. Therefore, (if you have it) you can use the pulley from the old generator. Delco (and certain other) generator pulleys fit perfectly on Delco alternators. The pulleys from the generators are keyed, the alternator shafts are not, but the generator pulleys work just fine on the alternators.
