Well i bought a IH 986 the other day. There were no leaks around it what soever. We have drove it up and down the road and nothing. So yesterday I change the oil and filters. Take it for about a 3 mile run down the road. Go over a big hill climb back up to check the clutch. Get back to barn and all of a sudden oil coming from under tractor. Pretty good puddle. Guessing the rear main seal. Thats my luck LOL. Was wanting to know how hard is it to fix. Do I have to break it in half. I have never had a IH so I don't know much about them. Also The remotes on it. I tried to connect my roll baler to it yesterday and found out I can't because the remotes are to big for the hose ends. Was wondering do I need to change the implement connections or is there an adaptor? Like I said not had IH before. All of your help is appreciated. Tim

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
