I agree with you D17 man about other reliable tractors for less investment. Yes the JD guys will say it will be worth more when you sell it. So what. But farming for a living why have extra dollars invested in machinery when you could invest those dollars in more land or something else. Example: When I bought my 1086 in 78 for $21,000 I could have bought a 4430 for $27,000. Those tractors today are worth $13,000 and $19,000. So if you figure the interest on that $6,000 difference over the years why invest the extra money. Either one will get the job done. I look at kinda like buying a Cadillac to drive or a Chevy. Both will get you there but you can say you own a Cadillac. Gary
