Not on mine you dont. Spin it clock wise until its on the start number then you spin the other way (counter clockwise) past the next number two times and stop at it on the third round. Back the other way (clockwise) and past the next number one time then stop on it the second time. Then a part of a spin back the other way stopping on it. Turn handle and it opens, hopefully. I think its about a 1900 safe. I have the numbers taped to the bottom in case my kids need the combo if I get killed. I hope they find it.
