You should have told him that yes their daddy is out there killing the enemy and defending their rights as well as the rights of others, including his right to make such a dumb a$$ remark. That said I do think the remark was ment to be insensitive simply because of what was implied. Like others have said I don't know the man but based on the remark I got a bad vibe knowing it was said in that situation.... You should have replied back to him that this country has become way to sensitive and has forgotten that life is not a video game and in a war people are gonna kill and be killed. I believe wether you are for or against the war you ought to be behind the troops 110% and be honored that these people are out there doing what they do. I also believe I any child that has a parent in the military ought to be proud of that fact. That includes the fact that their parent is willing to make the sacrifice of not only being far away from them for long periods of time, but also the sacrifice of having to taking another human life as well as being willing to sacrifice their own life in the name of freedom. I believe if a kid is old enough to understand we have a responsibility to explain all of this to them so they can understand that freedom, as they know it, is never truely free.....Just my .02
