Tubeless tires!!! are the only way to go..... If you travel with it at all, you need to get the tubeless drop center rims. Many tire shops wont even put air in those old split rims, on the road this could be a BIG problem. Not to say the least in finding tube type tires, there are tube type radials available but expensive but not easy to get! The wheels that will fit are from GMC/CHEV from 74 duallies (last splits were 73) up till now, the 16.5 dually 1T van wheels also fit. Ford and Dodge will not fit over the chev brakes. You can spot them because the wheel is cone shaped instead of rounded dish shape like the Chev wheels. I don't like the 16.5 because tires are a little more cost and less likely to be in stock. Use LT load range E tires. Should be 235/70s or 75s. Do not try to put larger tire than that they will not work on the duals they will rub. I have had the same 78 C30 with dirt box dump with a 16000 GVW door tag rating for 20 years now. The last set of tires Toyos 11ply rating have been on it since 1990. I have hauled some very heavy loads pulling a trailer with this truck to.

But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
