The other post is right on the money, my neighbor had the same problem and when we checked it out the starter bendix had bound up some way, when we put the starter back on, it was fine.
Sometimes with the new engine the selonoid will go bad because of the extra current draw also, but I bet the problem is the starter or selonoid and not the engine.
