Thanks for your very speedy reply. The idea of a 'splitter/diverter' came to mind, but I don't like the idea of having to flip it back and forwards to lift the bucket off the ground every time I move on to the next post. Or I would need to make something to hold the bucket up. The post auger/driver is a complete unit that I can borrow from a friend. All it needs is one hydraulic line in (also the return line is very long). It should handle rocks etc, although there are very few rocks close to the surface here. The FEL controller is an old HYDRECO with 1 lever for up and down, and another lever for tilting the bucket back and forward, and all of the rams are double-acting. The controller therefore has 4 outlets. I guess 'power beyond' needs an extra outlet, but there is no 5th outlet. Just now a friend made the following suggestion, I would appreciate your comment. The line going from the controller/lever to the bucket tilt rams has a tee-fitting (with one opening capped off). I could connect a hyraulic line to this for the post driver. Then I just need to tie up the control lever to get pressure in the line. The return valve in the post driver should keep low pressure going to the bucket rams. My concern is that pressure will still be going to the bucket rams, which will the same as holding the control lever forward for long periods. AB

From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
