If you have anything approaching level ground, a row-crop front end will not be inherently more dangerous. I'm partial to Farmall, but if you're inexperienced, the greatest determining factor for you in choosing a brand may be: WHERE CAN YOU FIND PARTS AND GOOD SERVICE? An IH 504 might be a good choice for you. I think most, if not all, had power steering also.
