You know I think you"re right, that"s what it does. I"ve got a box scraper on the back of the hitch & I think I played with that valve & the lift/descend rate does change. I"ll take it apart & see if it"s an o ring like you say. Right now I"ve got the hydraulic pump off because last time I used it all the hydraulic oil ended up in the engine! That"s a simple seal replacement by the look of it.So much for refurbished.
