Well you get what you put into it I guess. My clutch was shot last year and I finally got it into a shop in early January - trouble is the tractor is still there and is still not fixed. I'm hoping that I can get some guidance from some of the folks on this board to help when I go into the shop on Monday. Here is the info I have, the clutch was completely replaced, it was metal on metal and they had to machine one of the plates. After they put it back together the transmission won't slow down enough for to switch gears. Apparently there is a brake band that fits over the input shaft to the transmission that has worn out and the part can't be found. We've also discovered the steering housing is cracked and that needs to be replaced. Its my understanding that the clutch on DB 990's can be tricky. Here are the questions: 1) Where do I find a brake band? Is there another fix to this? 2) How long should a job like this take? 3) what should be done about the steering, do I need to buy the entire assembly? All your help is GREATLY appriciated - I nee to get that tractor out fast, I'm going nuts!
