I'm not bashing GM at all. I know the Allison is a great transmission, had nothing to do with it. For those of us who do drive sticks, it just sucks to not have that option(especially when its gonna cost me about $40,000). I'm 30 years old and have been driving a standard since I was 12. I've got a 95 model Chevy WT with the 4.3 and a 5 speed and I've only put one clutch in it, considering age, mileage, and what all I've towed with it, that can't be beat . I'm sure a few years down the road after I'm beat and banged up a little more I'll want an automatic. But for now, I'll stick to shifting. But again, this was not intended to be a bash on GM or people who need auto's, more a bash on suburbanites who own a 2 acre lot and like to pull their lawn "tractor" around the suburb with their new diesel. I agree, those people shouldn't have the option of a manual shift.........
