She said she was having trouble with the bank that could mean a lot of things not all her fault. I once wrote a check that bounced just after i had put $5000 in the bank, they told that they were holding the checkup for 3 days to see if it was good. I found out later that they do this to make money on your money. No I would stick to your deal after all she called right away and let you know, she could have just picked up the tractor and run with it.
Sounds like an honest person to me who just had a problem with their bank.

PS you said the money was in your account if the check is bad then how did that happen, I would call back and talk to them again about that.
